Philosophy/ Education
The city-state of Posus strongly valued education and provided it for all of its men.Children were educated from age seven to age fifteen. The degree and quality of education was based on social classes: the least wealthy having the lowest quality education and the most wealthy having the highest quality education. Slaves and women were not educated.
Posus chose to only educate men bcause they found no purpose in educating anyone else. Similar to most other city-states, women in Posus stayed at home and took care of the household. They spent their time cleaning, cooking and sometimes running errands. Women also taught their daughters how to cook and take care of a household before they get married. In short, they believed men should be educated and women should not.
Posus shared beliefs with many city-states in Anchient greece, they shared the common practice of a polytheistic religion. The people of Posus worshiped all gods but mostly the god that posus is named for, Posiden. Posus also had slaves like other city-states, the slave population was not as large as sparta but Posus believed that haveing slaves was the correct way to live.
