Posus interacted with all city-states through trade. Their main export was fish; and fish were easy to get with their seaside location. This location also inspired their name, Posus, derived from Poseidon, God of the sea.
Thanks to their strength in fishing, Posidians were viewed as hard workers by many other Ancient Greeks. Their biggest allies were Ithica and Athens, they helped each other in all battles. Their rival was Thebes; this is because they are rivals with Athens. This alliance with Ithica originated from their nearby location to them. They were allies with Athens because of their similiar views of education, philosophy, and trade. Due to their equally strong navies, they often found themselves fighting side by side in battle, conquering enemies together.
