Geography
The city-state of Posus was founded on the west coast of present day Greece near Ithica bordering the Ionian Sea. Having protection from the nearby mountain range, Spili Korifi, and the bay on the opposite side, this was the optimal location for a flourishing polis. The mountains provided protection from attackers coming from the land while the bay provided an escape route and a place to start their naval journeys. The bay also provided a way to obtain the fish they used for trade. In addition, the nearby river provided fertile soil for agriculture in their valley.
